Rules for the Isle Of Wedmore Society (IOWS) Photography Competition

How to enter to enter the competition

Entry is a two part process. First register your intention to enter and then secondly submit your entry.

1. Registration

1.1. This Photography Competition is for residents of the parish of Wedmore of all ages and is free to
enter.
1.2. The opening date for registering entries will be the 1st May 2026.
Closing date for registering entries will be 14th August 2026 at 18:00 (6pm).
1.3. Registrations received after this time will not be accepted.

2. Submission of Entries

2.1. Bring your photograph(s) in person to Jean Gregory at Cross Farm Green, BS28 4EY on either the
17th or 18thof Aug. 2026 between 10:00am and 19:00.
Note. Parking in Cross Farm Green is very limited so please park in the Wedmore public car when
delivering your entry(s).
2.2. There you will be given an identification label(s) for you to then stick in a corner on the back of your
photograph(s).
2.3. For the purpose of judging, your photograph(s) shall not have any other identifying information or
marks.

Technical Requirements and eligibility

1. This Photography Competition is for residents of the parish of Wedmore of all ages and is free to enter.
2. There will be four Classes:-
2.1. Class One – For people 16 years of age and under, with the theme – ‘Sunshine and Shadow’ to show
the natural and green aspects of the Parish
2.2. Class Two – For people over 16 years of age, with the theme – ‘Sunshine and Shadow’ to show the
natural and green aspects of the Parish.
2.3. Class Three – For people 16 years of age and under, with the theme –. “Brick and Stone’ to show the
historical features within the Parish.
2.4. Class Four – For people over 16 years of age, with the theme – ‘Brick and Stone’ to show the
historical features within the Parish.

3. For classes one and three the photographer must 16 or younger on the 14th Aug. 2026.

4. No entrant may submit more than three photographs for any class.

5. Photographs from a previous IOWS photography competition may not be entered.

6. The photograph(s) must measure A5 or 8 inches X 6 inches (200X150mm).
