Giving to others feels good! We all appreciate help from other people when we need it, but also it is well recognised that it is good for our wellbeing to do some giving! In Wedmore we have many opportunities to do some ‘giving’. Take a look in your new Directory, section 4 and you will find lots to choose from. For example, you could help St Mary’s as a ‘community centre’, or support local projects with Cheddar Vale Lions Club, or be a volunteer with Good Neighbours or help make Wedmore look beautiful with Wedmore in Bloom. Financial Wellbeing

Kathryn Delve, Financial Wellbeing Officer for Westcountry Savings and Loans (a Credit Union supported by Somerset County Council) says: "January can be a difficult month for many people, this week of the year particularly, is when people feel the impact of their Christmas spend. Axbridge & Wedmore Doctors are promoting this tool which may be of interest to parents and family members or individuals who have suicidal thoughts, and are aware of several schools and colleges in Somerset who are already downloading this tool within their organisations. R;pple are also encouraging other organisations to consider using this tool to protect staff. You can find out more about this at the website here.
