We are a group of local volunteers that has been set up to offer a helping hand to anyone who would welcome it.
Initiated by members of our four local Church of England churches, and building on the great work that has been done by the local COVID-19 Volunteer Groups, the idea is to give everyone in the local community the opportunity to live life to the full. We’d like the new normal to be better than the old normal!
Services include lifts to medical appointments, club meetings and social events, help with tasks around the house, running errands to local shops or collecting prescriptions and offering friendly company over a cuppa – anything a good neighbour would be happy to help with. These services are being rolled out gradually as lockdown restrictions are lifted.
Right now volunteers can do anything that does not involve entering your house or sharing a car, but this may change before the beginning of June. The services are available to anyone around the Isle of Wedmore who would welcome some practical assistance or social contact.
Call us on 01934 806299 and leave a message – a volunteer will call you back.
If you know someone who might need or like our help, get them to call us – we can only respond if they ask us to. Right now we have enough volunteers but if you are keen to help us please get in touch.
Just a last word – we are not an emergency service and do not take the place of health and social services – our role is to be Good Neighbours!
