02: Invest in relationships – social interaction & relaxation

Purpose/role:

This is a Community Choir, not a church choir. It provides opportunities to sing together for fun & enjoyment and to meet together.

The choir sings at social occasions, eg weddings, fetes and in care homes.

Purpose/role:

To enable the whole village to meet together for an evening to celebrate the harvest

The event is held each year on the 1st Saturday in August in the field in the church. There are also fund-raising events throughout the year, eg the ‘Winter Warming’ evening

To continue the tradition of change ringing at St Mary’s church, the original purpose of which was to call people to church services

Ringers practice Monday evenings at 5pm. The bells are rung every Sunday at 9.45am before the Sunday service and on other special occasions, eg weddings.

Purpose/role:

To hold an annual village event with entertainments & including a competition to present the best of a range of items & skills, e.g: children’s handicrafts produce, handicrafts, baking, wine, beers and photography.

The annual show is held on the 1st Saturday in September. There are fund-raising events during the year.
